Yesterday evening was the premiere of HBO’s new vampire series True Blood. New Orleans is the setting of this vampire story and its hero is Sookie Stackhouse a waitress at Merlotte’s bar and griddle. Sookie is played by Oscar winning actress Anna Paquin of the Piano and X-Men fame.

Vampires are living their lives in the open. With this new manmade blood perfected by the japanese there isn’t any longer a need for vampires to eat humans.
In the True Blood premiere a vampire walks into the bar and sits in Sookie’s station. Sookie is instantly attracted to him and that is’s when the fun begins.
I believed last night’s episode of True Blood was quite comical. This new take on the vampire idiom is unique and interesting. If you’re looking for your typical run of the mill vampire tale you’ll be pleasantly surprised with something that’s totally different. The producers and writers have made a concentrated effort not to be a story built on vampire clichs. Read more...
